What is Football?
FIFA & Other Organizations
The official football is controlled by FIFA, Fédération Internationale de Football Association`founded in 1904. FIFA not only governs International Football but also organizes the Football World Cup. Besides FIFA there are other organizations to manage international and national football based on country or continent. For example, Confederação Brasileira de Futebol; CBF for Brazil, Argentine Football Association; AFA for Argentina, Bangladesh Football Federation; BFF for Bangladesh, South American Football Confederation; CONMEBOL for South America, The Union of European Football Associations; UEFA for Europe. These are some organizations that manage their international or national football under the rules of FIFA.
Greatest Show On Earth
FIFA WORLD CUP which is the biggest football competition of the world and it is considered as the Greatest Show On Earth.
Every 4 years all over the planet people gathered and celebrate this competition as a world wide festival no matter what their race, origin, language, religion. All the countries in the world try to participate in this competition but only few can make their country proud. First they play the qualifying games around the world and top 32 teams from the qualifying round can participate in this competition. 32 teams are divided into 8 groups with 4 nations per group where they play a game with each other. Top two nations from each group then advance to round of 16 matches where they play a match with other group toppers. Winning the round of 16, next the 8 winning nations play quarter-final, 4 winners from this round play semi final and finally two winning nations from semi-final make it to the final.
At last, ONE country from all the football playing countries in the world wins the FIFA WORLD CUP TROPHY, a solid gold trophy that is awarded to the winning nation.

The only Five time champions of this competition, Brazil is considered as the most successful football playing nation in the world cup.
Pelé - Greatest Player Of All Time
You may wonder, who is the greatest player of this greatest show on earth?
The Brazilian Legend, One of the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century, Leading Goal Scorer of All Time (1,283), FIFA Football Player of the Century, Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee, Three Time World Cup Champion (1958, 1962, and 1970), Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé is considered as the GOAT - greatest of all time.
Bangladesh Football - An Unfortunate Disappointment
The football craze in Bangladesh is unbelievable, unimaginable, unthinkable. Especially during the Football World Cup Bangladesh shows their support towards other football giants like, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Italy etcetera. But it is a matter of sorrow that Bangladesh themselves didn’t even participate in a single football world cup competition. Bangladesh's absence of an indigenous football structure has harmed the country's football quality. Without a framework to discover and nurture talented players, the local talent pool has become progressively depleted. As a result, the national team has suffered greatly and is now struggling to produce acceptable football. This is a big issue for Bangladesh, considering football is the second most popular sports in the country. If the quality does not improve, interest will undoubtedly fall, causing even more issues for Bangladeshi football. Something must be done to develop the country's football infrastructure so that Bangladesh's footballers can compete on the world level and people of Bangladesh does not need to support other nations in the Football World Cup.
